About the Project:
The virtual tour of the Niavaran Cultural Historic Complex has been designed and developed to provide easy access for everyone from everywhere and to better introduce the diverse historical, architectural, artistic, and natural aspects of this valuable complex.
This complex, featuring iconic buildings and rich archives from Qajar and Pahlavi eras with nearly two centuries of history, aims to showcase its capacities and attractions to audiences worldwide through modern technology, without spatial or temporal limitations.
The virtual tour offers enthusiasts and researchers an opportunity to explore the complex not only as a unique virtual visit but also with a scientific and research-oriented perspective to examine its historical, artistic, architectural, and natural dimensions.
The idea behind this project aligns with the overarching policies of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts and follows the latest global museum practices. What distinguishes this project from similar tours is its comprehensive narration of historical events from Qajar to Pahlavi era and the detailed presentation of all buildings and significant artifacts across more than 360 interactive points, making it one of the most extensive and content-rich virtual tours among museums in the country.
Visitors can virtually access areas that are otherwise inaccessible due to technical or structural limitations in physical visits. This feature provides a calm and detailed experience, allowing enthusiasts to thoroughly explore every corner and aspect of the complex.
Other highlights of the project include interactive features such as opening and closing the main museum doors, adjusting the curtains and lighting in the royal cinema hall, and operating the movable roof of the main hall in the palace museum.
The photography and documentation for this tour was completed in spring and summer of 2022, with plans for further expansion and updates. We hope that with the support of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ministry, the scientific, research, and tourism goals of this project will be fully achieved.
We warmly welcome feedback and suggestions from those who love Iranian culture and art.
