" The Taste of the Museum: From Table to Art” A Journey Through Flavor and History, Exhibition at Niavaran Royal Palace Museum

On the occasion of World Food Day, Niavaran Royal Palace Museum is hosting an exhibition titled “The Taste of the Museum: From Table to Art.”

The exhibition is organized to mark World Food Day and to highlight Iran’s rich culinary and artistic heritage. Under the global slogan “Water is Life, Water is Food – Leave No One Behind” (or, as presented in this event, “Hand in Hand for Better Food and Better Future”), the exhibition is open to the public from October 15 to November 14, 2025.

This exhibition presents a collection of historical and museum artifacts related to Iranian cuisine and table traditions from Pahlavi era, including dining sets, cooking utensils reflecting traditional Iranian and Western feasts, and an oil painting titled “Ashpazan (The Cooking),” dating back to Qajar era.

World Food Day was first established in 1945 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and has since been celebrated annually in over 150 countries. Since 2014, it has served as a platform for promoting innovative ideas on nutrition, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development.

“The Taste of the Museum: From Table to Art” offers a historical and social narrative of food culture in Iran—from royal courts to everyday life—illustrating the role of cuisine as a bridge between tradition and modernity, and as a reflection of national identity and cultural heritage. The exhibition will be open to visitors until November 14, 2025, welcoming all enthusiasts.
