The Sound of Childhood” Childhood Melodies through Niavaran’s Historic Vinyl Records Exhibition at Koushk AhmadShahi Museum

Hour 16:07 21 Oct 25

On the occasion of the National Children’s Week, the exhibition “The Sound of Childhood”—featuring vintage children’s cartoon gramophone records—is being held at Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration of KoushkAhmad Shahi Museum and Documentation Center of the Complex. It aims to revisit a part of Iran’s cultural history and the nostalgic memories of past generations. The event runs from October 5th to November 3rd, 2025, at Koushk AhmadShahi Museum.

For the first time, a collection of children’s vinyl records from the 1970s is on display. These vinyl records, once considered an innovative medium for conveying stories, songs, and educational programs for children, not only provided entertainment but also played an important role in fostering imagination and intellectual growth. They are among the earliest auditory experiences of earlier generations.

“The Sound of Childhood” invites visitors on a nostalgic journey into the world of sound and imagination—where bedtime stories, lullabies, and timeless songs emerge from small cardboard records, recalling an era when the gramophone bridged technology and the world of childhood dreams.

This exhibition, which highlights a lesser-seen aspect of Iran’s audio and cultural heritage, will be open until November the 3rd, 2025.
